The Brewer Ultimate Flue Outlet is a static anti downdraught chimney cowl. This model is for gas & solid fuel appliances. It has a mesh pre-fitted suitable for use with gas fired appliances or simply remove the mesh to make it suitable for solid fuel appliances. This cowl has been manufactured specifically to allow for the increased airflow required for solid fuel.
The Ultimate Flue Outlet (UFO) when originally introduced in 1995, was the first gas chimney cowl in the UK to pass the vigorous requirements of BS7 15:1993 (200mm). Fixing Method
This chimney cowl uses a strap band fixing method, considered to be the most secure method of fixing chimney cowls in the industry.
Four stainless steel straps attach from the cowl, and a stainless steel band (like a large jubilee clip) secures the cowl to the chimney pot. The bottom ends of the straps are then unturned to complete the installation.
The strap band fixings are included with this cowl.
Customer Reviews Best price, great service Plenty of info on the site to allow you to buy the right product, best price I could find on the net (and I'm pretty thrifty), good service via phone and quick, effective delivery. Have used you before and will do so again. Thanks! (14/03/2012) -
Does what it says on the tin!! Easy to fit and a well made quality product. Can be difficult to be sure it is central on the pot if your chimney is on a gable and you cant access all round - suggest having someone below to help line it up (07/09/2012) -
Perfect Arrived on time, and does the job really well. My previous cap had fouled up with tar, (I had chosen the wrong type) and so this one allows my chimney to breathe much more freely. (11/12/2012) -
Does the job Excellent price and speedy delivery. I picked this one over the others re. the other review comments on solid fuel. We have a wood/coal burner so I needed something for that and the wood burner flue in the other room has a small non-mesh top that pesky birds had gone down so I needed one with mesh! Satisfied Bought to keep the rain out that was rusting the Rayburn. Arrived quickly, and was easy to fit, so I bought one for the open fire pot too. May have increased the wind noise from the open fire, but that might be due to a change in wind direction since I fitted it. (08/11/2013) Ian Izett - Aberystwyth
Good Job Done Arrived promptly, good price, fixing was no problem and smoke goes up the chimney. Would have preferred a less obvious strap - but then how many people go around looking at chimney pots! (08/11/2013) Michael H - Halifax
Delighted I found that bending each strap twice to form a belt loop, then threading the strap through the loops, made the installation very easy. A light tap made each loop flat against the pot. Simples (04/12/2013) C4rlg - Aspatria
Brewer UFO for Solid Fuel This cowl is perfect and was easy to fix and arrived very promptly indeed. A few questions were asked from the company before buying and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you (01/02/2014) Sally Justice - Purley, Surrey
Quality product This is a quality product at a competitive price . The fixing is a great improvement of my previous cowl which came off in a storm . (06/03/2014) Richard - Shaw
Good Design This cowl seems to offer everything I wanted: antidowndraught, bird protection, solid fuel systems, and easy to fit. It has only just been fitted in Nov, so we shall see how well it performs this winter. I am pretty optimistic that it will do the job well. (11/11/2014) Michael - London sw
