MI Fires are fully committed to this clean air strategy, and have chosen to only design models exceeding all EcoDesign criteria.
The Skiddaw produces an impressive 13mg of particulate emissions, which is one of the lowest produced by any stove in the UK. The Skiddaw is also 85.1% efficient, which is why is has an excellent A+ Energy rating.
Construction and Easy Installation
Key features include 5mm and 8mm steel seam welded stove body contruction and cast iron door. The firebox is lined with 30mm vermiculite panels. The Grisedale is finished with a stylish polished stainless steel handle, and air control lever at the front.
The Skiddaw stove is equipped with an installer friendly 125mm outlet allowing you to flue the stove from either the top or the rear outlet. The discreet levelling screws are hidden in the legs to ensure that the stove can be secure no matter how uneven the hearth surface is. The Skiddaw stove is suitable for installation on a 12mm decorative hearth.
Variable Air Flow and Tertiary Air System
The Skiddaw stove features a single stainless steel air slider on the front of the stove allowing you to easily control the combustion of your stove. The Skiddaw features a very powerful tertiary system, which is central to the efficiency and cleanliness of the stove. Pre-heated air is drawn into the fire chamber and then injected into the path of the gasses produced during primary combustion. This re-ignites the gasses resulting in a significantly cleaner and more efficient fire.
